James Hwang serves as a Peer Advisor and Chair with C12 Business Forums in the North Texas Region. C12 is the world’s largest peer-learning organization for Christian CEOs, business owners, and executives, with a network of over 4,000 members across the United States and internationally. In the North Texas Region, there are approximately 140 CEO members participating in 15 CEO forums.

With over 25 years of experience in executive management and private equity, James specializes in helping businesses redesign and grow. His expertise spans mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, financial restructuring, compliance, cybersecurity, product development, sales and channel development, and engineering delivery workflow design. He has a deep understanding of the Financial, Retail, MDI, and Healthcare markets.

James has held several notable positions, including CEO of 1Path, a nationwide Managed Security Services Provider and technology outsourcing company operating in 29 markets. Before 1Path, James was the CEO of Cal Net Technology Group, an IT managed services company in Los Angeles, California, which was successfully acquired by Abry Partners. Under James’ leadership, Cal Net was ranked #37 on the MSP501 list of the Top 500 Global Managed Services Providers and achieved the Best Places to Work designation.

Prior to James’ tenure as CEO at Cal Net, he was the Vice President of the Central US Region at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.  James was responsible for leading and managing several hundred employees and approximately $400M in annual revenues for their Server, Storage, and Networking business units. His earlier career includes individual contributor and supervisory responsibilities at EMC and AT&T.

Currently, James is a Board Observer for Boathouse Capital, a middle market private equity group, and a Member of the Board of Directors for Cincinnati-based CNG Holdings, which focuses on delivering consumer fintech solutions. His previous board experience includes serving on the Board of Directors at Hope Bancorp (NASDAQ: HOPE), where he chaired the Technology and Strategy Committees and participated in the Risk and Governance Committees. James also participated and completed a 2 year commitment at Samsung Electronics’ Technology Advisory Board for their Global B2B Mobile and Display Solutions Divisions.

James is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and holds several advanced degrees.  James is in year 2 of his current PhD coursework for Leadership Studies at Dallas Baptist University.
