Pat’s journey towards C12 began in 2016 when Todd Hyneman a partner in his SC company recommended C12. That led Pat to become the first member of a new C12 Forum in Charleston, SC. As a member for four years, Pat enjoyed the discipling and leadership of 2 exemplary C12 Chairs Steve McCullough in Charleston and Grant Edwards in Greenville, SC. Lifelong relationships were developed through that exposure to C12, by God’s grace incredible blessings for family and business were enjoyed.

Bob Buford’s book Halftime was a Godsend for Pat over 15 years ago as he prayed for God’s leading in his life. Joining C12 was God’s answer to Pat’s prayers asking the Lord “what do you want me to do in my Second Half?”

Pat and Dianna will celebrate 35 years of marriage in 2022, they have four adult children and 8 grandchildren, all in the Raleigh area. God has richly blessed us through our family as they have become some of our best friends in adulthood.

Being active in church has been a staple for the Garners, with roles leading on Deacon Boards, Sunday School Teacher, Finance and Personnel Chair, and Small Group leadership keep them planting seeds for the Kingdom to this day.

I have been blessed with encouragers in my life, Dianna has always been one, as we were considering becoming involved with C12 as a Chair in 2019 after retiring from a 48-year career, Dianna shared “God made you for this!”.

Business experience began at the Golden Arches like so many young people growing up in the 60’s. Pat was blessed to work close to the founder and Chairman Ray Kroc in his hometown of San Diego. His influence allowed Pat to purchase a McDonald’s franchise at 25 and ultimately to spend over 40 years in the franchising world. Working on both the franchisee side as an owner and on the franchisor side leading and developing strong assimilation and growth of franchisees. Mr. Kroc let me in on a little secret in 1981, he shared with me that my nickname at Mcdonald’s was “The People Pump.” Watching and helping people grow and develop brings me a sense of joy I can’t explain, I know it’s how God made me. Now in our calling to C12, we are so grateful that God continues to lead and provide business owners and leaders who are committed to honoring God, as they build better businesses for a greater purpose. The fields are white for the harvest.
