Todd L. Dodson is a native of Roanoke, Virginia, and a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville, Virginia. Following high school, he attended Appalachian State University. He was a four-year lettermen in football and a Distinguished Military Graduate in ROTC. Following graduation in 1985. Mr. Dodson was commissioned into the US Army Corps of Engineers. He served 7 years in the Corps of Engineers before he changed his career path and volunteered for Special Forces. He graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, NC. in May 1991. Mr. Dodson served in numerous positions over the next 18 years which took him all over the world. His final deployment was to Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as the Chief of Staff for Combined/Joint Special Operations Task Force – Arabian Peninsula. He oversaw the conduct and support of over two thousand combat operations through the Iraqi theater, involving forces from all services, Iraqi military, and Iraqi police forces. Mr. Dodson retired after 25 years of service at the rank of Colonel when his last assignment was the US Special Operations Command liaison to the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Following retirement, Mr. Dodson returned to the Roanoke Valley in Virginia.

Upon his return, Mr. Dodson worked for the Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc. and Lawrence Companies, Inc. He currently is the Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President of Operations for Beacon Wealth Consultants, Inc., a financial advisory firm located in Roanoke.

After losing his first wife to cancer in 2009, Todd remarried the former Lisa Hammer Crawford in 2011. They have three daughters, and one son-in-law.
