DEWEY GREENE

Friends called them Ken and Barbie with kids. From the outside looking in it was true. Dewey and Jeannie were blessed with five beautiful children, a promising health care career, and, from all indications, were firmly grounded in the church. Looks can be deceiving. A sincere, strong commitment to the church, with a non-existent personal relationship with the Living God, is a formula for disaster, an invisible ticking time bomb. Dewey, enjoying worldly success, was blindly adrift in man’s sinful nature. His world would collapse. He, and those nearest to him, suffered greatly. But God is present. He is not the enfeebled grandfather that we envisioned. No, God is miraculous. What no man nor woman could have done, God did. He intervened and radically rescued Dewey and Jeannie; and, one day at a time, He continues to plant their feet on solid ground. Dewey was born and reared in Macon, Georgia. He has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Masters in Health Administration from Duke University. Dewey and Jeannie are the proud parents of five adult children, an adopted son whom God has entrusted to their care, and twenty beautiful grandchildren. They live in Nashville, Tennessee. Dewey’s heart for God is reflected in his personal mission statement: Every day, purpose to hear and follow God’s call that Christ Jesus be honored in my innermost thoughts and manifested in my love for others (John 15:9-13). His hope and prayer is that God will powerfully use him as a vessel in C12’s ministry. Dewey is also the author of Painful Gifts; a simple but profound story that reveals the presence of the Living God.

DUANE MURRAY

Duane started his twelve-year career in healthcare developing a statewide management services organization for private and Baptist-owned practices in Central Kentucky. He then transitioned to middle TN to become CEO of a 12 doctor Orthopaedic Surgery group in Franklin, TN, where he led them to consecutive years of their highest profitability and expansion. This included the successful development of a free-standing, physician-owned surgery center. But instead of taking the next career jump when it came in 2005, Duane made the courageous decision to leave a promising healthcare career to support the growing ministry of his church. He went from health care to soul care. Duane became the Executive Pastor at Thompson Station Church, where over twelve years the church developed locally, launched an international missions plan, started a satellite church, and planted churches in Las Vegas and Cincinnati. More than that he developed a passion to be a disciple who makes disciples who make disciples. Discipleship started at home where he partnered with his wife, Kristen, to intentionally pour into their three children. These three children have developed their own passion for a personal relationship with Christ that includes ministering to others. All three children are pursuing business careers with the plan to use their business as a platform for ministry. Duane sees his contribution to the mission of Christ (to reach every nation) is through discipleship in the marketplace. He utilizes his gifts for facilitation and insightful inquiry to spur business leaders to build great businesses for a greater purpose as a chair in C12’s Greater Nashville area.

“C12 is everything I was looking for and more of what I didn’t know I needed. My peers challenge me in my blind spots, love me in hard times, and encourage me to glorify God in the way I lead my team. It’s a home for business leaders.”
